EHFD Assists Middleville Fire Department at Barn Fire

The East Herkimer Fire Department provided manpower, a tanker and an engine to assist the Middleville Fire Department at the scene of a large barn fire in the early morning hours of July 31, 2012 on Hard Scrabble Road in the Town of Fairfield. Middleville was also assisted at the scene by Newport, Salisbury, and Mohawk Fire Departments along with KVAC ambulance. Schuyler Fire Department was on standby at the Newport Fire Station. Several head of cattle were lost in the blaze.
